5 Tips to hard reset iPad Pro/Air/mini to factory settings

Tip1: Back up your iPad before resetting to factory settings

Hard reset your iPad to factory settings means to erase all data and settings from your iPad. So, it is highly recommend baking up your iPad before resetting it. With the backup of your iPad, you can restore it at any time, so that you can reset your iPad and then restore it with backup without losing any data. Tip2: Restore iPad to factory settings with iTunes

1. Open iTunes, and connect your iPad to this computer with USB cable.

(If it is the first time to connect your iPad to this computer, you are required to enter the passcode on your iPad screen to trust this computer. If you have forgotten your iPad passcode, go and see tip4 and tip5. )

2. Click on the iPad icon, you will see your iPad summary on the right panel.

Tip3: Reset iPad to factory settings from your iPad itself

1. Unlock your iPad, go Settings → General → Reset → Erase All Content and Settings.

Tip4: Erase iPad to factory default settings from iCloud.com

If your iPad is lost, you need to erase the personal information from your iPad, incase it falling into other people's hand. But this method only works when the Find My iPad is enabled on your iPad.

1. Go to iCloud.com, and sign in with your Apple ID and password.

2. Click on "Find iPhone", and sign in with your Apple ID password again.

3. On the top of page, click on "All Devices" and select your iPad device.

4. Click on "Erase iPad", and confirm to reset your iPad to factory settings.

Tip5: Hard reset iPad to factory settings from Recovery Mode

1. Power off your iPad, connect it to the computer with USB cable, and open iTunes on the computer.

2. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button at the same time until get into Recovery mode.

3. On iTunes, a dialog box pops up. Click on OK, Restore, Next and Agree to begin the resetting process.

4. After resetting, follow the instructions on your iPad screen to set up your iPad.

Tips: If hard reset your iPad from the Recovery mode, you won't be able to restore your iPad with backup.
