Reset Windows forgotten password with Android Phone or Tablet

Forgot Windows password and locked out of computer? Following this document will show you how to reset Windows forgotten password and unlock your computer with an Android phone or tablet.

When we are locked out of computer forgot password, the fastest and most safe way to unlock our computers without resetting or reinstalling system is creating a password reset disk. With the assistant of WPTuner (Windows Password Tuner for Android) we can create a Windows password reset disk by two ways on an Android Phone or Tablet. One way is burning a USB to Windows Password reset disk, another way is mounting the Android device itself to a Windows password reset disk.

With the two ways to create Windows password reset disk on Android devices, you can follow these two ways to unlock your locked computer.

Way 1: Unlock computer with password reset disk burning with USB

Preparations:

• A writable USB disk;
• An OTG cable;
• A rooted Android phone;
• Cocosenor WPTuner app.

Step 1 Create a Windows password reset disk with USB

1. Download WPTuner (Cocosenor Windows Password Tuner for Android) app on your Android phone or tablet.
2. Find the cocosenor-wptuner-ultimate.apk file on your android device, and tap on it to install this app.

3. Connect a USB disk to your Android device with OTG cable.

   
   

   

   
   

4. Tap on the USB option, and then tap on "Burn" button to create a USB password reset disk.

   
   

   

5. When you get the "Burning Successfully" message, tap on "Eject", and disconnect the USB drive with Android device.

   
   

   

   
   

   A Windows password reset disk has been created successfully, now you can take it to unlock your computer.

Step 2Boot your locked computer from the USB password reset disk

1. Take the USB password reset disk insert into your locked computer.

2. Power on your locked computer, and set it to boot from the USB flash drive.

   Most of the computers can detect the USB drive and boot from it automatically. If your computer can't boot from the USB drive automatically, set it to boot following this article:

Step 3Reset Windows forgotten password and unlock computer

1. When boots to the Windows Password Tuner program screen, select the system and your user account name.

2. Click on "Reset Password" button, your password will be set to blank or the one on the prompt message, click on Yes to accept it. Please remember to write down the new password, you may need to enter it to login computer later.

   
   

   

3. Click on "Reboot", make sure to eject the USB drive, click on Yes to close the prompt message and restart your computer again.

   
   

   

4. When boots to the Windows logon screen, log into system with the new password. If the password is set to blank, just click on your user account name, you will get into Windows without password.

Way 2: Unlock computer with password reset disk mounting with Android device

Preparations:

• A rooted Android phone or tablet;
• WPTuner.

Step 1 Mounting Android device to be a password reset disk

1. Download and install WPTuner (Windows Password Tuner for Android) on your rooted Android device.

2. Tap on the Cocosenor WPTuner application to open it, tap on Phone option, and then tap on "Mount" button.

   
   

   

3. Wait for a while when you get the message "Now your phone is a Windows Password Reset Disk" that means the password reset disk has been created successfully.

   
   

   

   
   

Step 2Boot computer from the Android device

1. Connect your Android device to the locked computer with USB cable.

2. Set your Android device as Media device.

   
   

   

3. Start/restart the locked computer, when power on press Boot menu key repeatedly until the Boot menu appears. Select your Android device, press Enter to restart computer.

Step 3Reset Windows forgotten password and unlock computer

1. When boots to Windows Password Tuner interface, follow the on-screen instructions to reset your user password.
2. After the password is reset, remember to eject your Android device, and restart computer to logon screen, then you can login Windows with the new password just reset.
